Girls Volleyball around the Area featured both conference and non-conference matchups
Shiocton 3, Bonduel 2
(17-25, 26-24, 28-26, 24-26, 8-15)
In a conference matchup of strong area teams on Tuesday night, it was the Shiocton Chiefs taking a 5 set thriller over the Bonduel Bears. The Bears were up 2-1 going into set 4 and then Shiocton took over winning the last 2 sets. With the win, the Chiefs improve to 10-4 and 1-0 in conference play, the Bears drop to 7-4 and 0-1 in conference action.
#22 West De Pere 3, Green Bay Preble 0
(25-13, 25-19, 25-21)
The Phantoms picked up a road conference win at Green Bay Preble. The Phantoms improve to 12-4 and 1-0 in the FRCC and Preble drops to 5-6 and 0-1 in the FRCC.
Bay Port 3, Pulaski 0
(15-25, 23-25, 9-25)
The Pulaski Red Raiders lost a road conference test at Bay Port. The Red Raiders had a strong second set losing 23-25. Pulaski’s Addison Krueger had 7 kills during the contest and Senior Reese Lardinois had 6 of her own. Pulaski drops to 5-5 and 0-1 in the FRCC and Bay Port improves to 10-3 and 1-0 in the FRCC.
#14 Xavier 3, Kaukauna 0
(25-11, 25-16, 25-15)
The Hawks flew high to home non-conference win over visiting Kaukauna. The Hawks held the Galloping Ghosts to just 11 points in the 1st set. With the win, the Hawks improve to 11-2 and Kaukauna drops to 3-5.
Amherst 3, Manawa 1
(15-25, 25-15, 11-25, 20-25)
The Manawa Wolves lost a road conference match at Amherst on Tuesday night. The Wolves managed to tie the sets at 1 but Amherst took over the 3rd and 4th sets. The Wolves drop to 6-7 and 0-1 in conference action and Amherst improves to 4-2 and 1-0 in conference action.
Bowler 3, White Lake 2
(25-27, 25-22, 25-14, 23-25, 15-11)
The Panthers squeaked out a 5 set win over the visiting White Lake Lakers. Bowler and White Lake went back and forth each taking a set until Bowler pulled away in the 5th and final set winning 15-11. With the conference win, Bowler improves to 1-4 overall and 1-1 in conference. Meanwhile, the Lakers drop to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in conference.
Rosholt 3, Port Edwards 0
(25-17, 25-12, 25-20)
The Hornets stung their way to a road conference win against the Blackhawks limiting the Port Edwards attack. With the win, the Hornets improve to 4-2 and 1-0 in conference play. The Blackhawks drop to 3-7 and 0-1 in conference play.
Northland Lutheran 3, Tigerton 1
(22-25, 26-24, 20-25, 18-25)
The Tigerton Tigers dropped a home conference match to the visiting Wildcats of Northland Lutheran. Both teams took a set before the Wildcats clawed their way to a win in 4 sets. The Tigers were led by Presley Stewart-Rolfs with 11 kills during the match she also had 5 aces during the match. With the loss, the Tigers dropped to 4-4 overall and 1-2 in conference, Northland Lutheran improves to 4-3 and 2-1 in conference play.
Winneconne 3, Omro 0
(25-7, 25-11, 25-17)
The Wolves made quick work of the Foxes holding them to just 7 points in the first set and cruising the rest of the way to a 3-0 sweep. With the win, the Wolves remain undefeated at 5-0 and Omro drops to 1-6.
Crivitz 3, Gillett 1
(13-25, 15-25, 25-23, 20-25)
The Gillett Tigers dropped a home conference contest to the Crivitz Wolverines on Tuesday Night. The Tigers dropped the 1st two sets then clawed back to win the 3rd before Crivitz dispatched the Tigers. Marli Myers for Crivitz had 8 kills on the night. With the win, Crivitz improves to 6-2 overall and 4-0 in the Marinette & Oconto Conference. Gillett drops to 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in the M&O.
