BONDUEL, WI – The Bonduel Bears controlled all phases of the game Friday night, rolling to a 19-0 shutout victory over Southern Door.
After a scoreless first quarter, Bonduel broke through in the second when quarterback Quinn Wesenberg connected with Beckett Hartlaben on a 21-yard touchdown pass, giving the Bears a 7-0 halftime lead.
In the third quarter, running back Carter Moesch took over. He ripped off a 41-yard touchdown run to extend the lead to 13-0, then added a 19-yard score in the fourth. Both conversion attempts failed, but the Bears’ defense made sure it didn’t matter, keeping the Eagles off the board.
Moesch finished with a dominant performance, rushing 14 times for 174 yards and two touchdowns while also catching two passes for 35 yards. Wesenberg was efficient under center, going 6-for-9 for 74 yards and a score, though he was intercepted once. Hartlaben hauled in two catches for 30 yards and the lone receiving touchdown.
Bonduel’s defense was equally strong, limiting Southern Door to just 122 total yards and forcing two interceptions. Wesenberg and Hartlaben each grabbed a pick, while the Bears held the Eagles to 10 passing yards all night.
With the win, Bonduel piled up 368 total yards, including 290 on the ground, and improved to 2-0 on the season.
