
Elizabeth “Betty” Jean Kraning, 87, passed away September 5, 2025. The daughter of Frank & Lillian (Platten) Wojciechowski was born December 21, 1937.
Betty was a 1956 graduate of Seymour High School. On December 1, 1962, she married Elmer Robert Kraning and enjoyed 62 years together. They raised their family and ran a dairy farm their entire life.
Betty also worked at the Northern Shoe factory and was the caretaker for the Town of Angelica Town Hall for many years. She also enjoyed being outside, gardening, sitting in the gazebo watching wildlife, putting together puzzles, reading, bowling, playing cards, and she was a great cook.
Survivors include her nine children: Dale (Karen) Jach, Susan (Bruce) Leiser, Connie (James) Przybylski, Debra (Michael) Hock, Glen (Heather) Kraning, Randy (Michelle Snyder) Kraning, Rodney Kraning, Denis (Elizabeth) Kraning, Tina (Randy) Panske, 22 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; sister, Dorthy Bishop; and sisters-in-law Carol Wojciehowski, Bonnie Kraning, and Martha (Werner) Kamba.
In addition to her parents Frank and Lillian, she was preceded in death by daughter Christina Ann Kraning; brother and sisters: Robert “Bud” Wojciehowski, Nancy (David) Tilleson, Lucille (Harold) Boerst, Robert Bishop. Brothers and sisters-in-law; Ervin (Betty) Kraning, Margaret (Jim) Born, Leroy (Millie) Kraning, Lester Kraning.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Casimir Church, 146 Park St., Krakow, on Thursday, September 11, from 9-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Seymour.
