The WIAA Girls Volleyball Season continued Thursday with some area conference kicking off conference play.
Spartans, Mustangs, Irish and Comets take early conference lead.

Waupaca 3, Marinette 0
The Waupaca Comets delivered a strong all-around performance and swept Marinette (25-13, 25-10, 25-10), finishing with 33 kills, 24 aces, and 32 assists as a team. Senior Peyton Carlson was dominant at the net, racking up 19 kills on a .640 hitting percentage, while also adding 6 aces and 13 serve receptions without an error. Senior Molly Martens provided a big lift with 9 kills on a .385 hitting percentage and 2 aces. Senior setter Taylor Kling ran the offense with 26 assists and added 4 aces at the service line. Freshman Ava Adamczak chipped in with 4 aces on 10 serves for a perfect 100 percent rate, while sophomore Sage Soto anchored the back row with 7 digs and 7 serve receptions.
Luxemburg-Casco 3, Wrightstown 0
The Spartans used a fast start to top Wrightstown in three sets (25-9, 25-21, 25-19). The Tigers battled back to make it close second set.
Little Chute 3, Clintonville 1
After dropping the first set 25-17, the Mustangs rattled of three consecutive wins (27-25, 25-7, 25-23) to top Clintonville.
Freedom 3, Denmark 1
Denmark gave Freedom all they could handle, winning the first set in a close 25-23 win. The Irish won the next three sets, with close finishes (25-18, 25-16, 26-24), to start the conference season with a win.
Tigerton 3, White Lake 0
Tigerton hosted CWC North rival White Lake and came away with a 3-0 victory, winning sets 25-21, 25-14, and 25-13. Defensively, Aaliyah Lederhaus led the way with 19 digs, followed closely by Jaelyn Brady with 18 and Renata Nordwig with 15. Presley Stewart-Rolfs paced the team in kills with 8, while Lederhaus and Lillian Welch added 6 each. In the back row and on the service line, Lederhaus had 14 service points including 5 aces, Nordwig added 13 points with 4 aces, and Stewart-Rolfs, Tiller, Brady, and Dent contributed aces as well. Danika Tiller led the team in assists with 13, with Lederhaus adding 7. Block kills came from Stewart-Rolfs and Mya Smith, each recording one.
With the win, Tigerton improves to 1-1 in CWC North play and 4-3 overall.
Hortonville 3, Neenah 2
Becca Krause led the team offensively with 11 kills and a .182 hitting percentage, while Rayna Nelson added nine kills of her own. The Polar Bears also showed defensive strength, recording 51 digs and 8 team blocks, with Brooke Bacus contributing 12 digs and Krause combining for seven blocks. In ball handling, Hortonville totaled 33 assists, with Ashlie Sippola distributing 22 of them, helping the team stay organized and in control throughout the match.
Hortonville improved to 6-5 while Neenah drops to 7-5.
Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Bay Port 0
It was a upset in Appleton as the Foxes took down the Pirates
(25-23, 25-16, 25-21). Fox Valley Lutheran improves to 8-3 on the season and Bay Port slips to 9-3.
Xavier 3, New London 0
The Xavier Hawks use a quick start to defeat New London 2-0, keeping the Bulldogs in single digits 2 out of the 3 sets winning (25-7, 25-4, 25-10.) Leading the Xavier attack were Sydney Neilitz with 15 assists and five aces, Lily Renz with three aces and five digs, Grace Hackl with 10 digs and two aces, Rose Kendall with four kills, and Bella Daley with seven kills. Braelee Kiepert added five kills, and Hope Kaufman had six aces and six digs.

All three teams finished tied on the evening with Almond-Bancroft, Manawa and Spencer all finishing with one win and one loss. Manawa defeated Spencer, Almond-Bancroft topped Manawa and Spencer beat Almond-Bancroft.
Manawa Volleyball Leaders Stand Out
The Manawa Wolves have relied on balanced contributions across the roster, with several players stepping up as statistical leaders. Senior Abby Elmhorst continues to power the attack, recording 14 kills, 16 assists, and 14 digs over two matches. Sophomore Adelyn Schertz added 7 kills and 4 blocks, while junior Alayna Seeger provided 6 kills, 3 aces, and 2 blocks to give the Wolves consistency at the net and from the service line. Junior Olivia Zielke anchored the defense with 17 digs and chipped in 5 kills, and junior setter Katelyn Krueger paced the offense with 13 assists and 5 aces.

The Shiocton Chiefs got contributions from several players in their latest action, led by senior Brooke Beschta, who finished with 6 kills on a .316 hitting percentage, 10 assists, and 8 digs. Sophomore Sophie Wagner was a standout on defense, recording a team-high 15 digs, while also adding 3 kills on the attack. Sophomore Abby Young chipped in 4 kills on a .333 hitting percentage along with 6 digs, giving Shiocton another steady two-way performer.
Amherst 2, Shiocton 0 (25-17, 25-23)
Sophomore Sophie Wagner led the way with 4 kills on .444 hitting, a team-high 12 digs, 3 block assists, and an ace. Freshman Natalie Young added 3 kills, 2 block assists, and an ace, giving Shiocton a strong presence at the net and service line. Senior Brooke Beschta chipped in 3 kills, 5 digs, and 5 assists, while also adding a solo block. Junior Lilli Griesbach provided steady defense with 7 digs and was perfect from the service line with 2 aces.
