Shawano Police responded to a variety of calls throughout the day on Thursday. Early in the morning, officers assisted Fond du Lac County with an investigation at a home on South Weed Street. Later, a vandalism complaint was reported on East Lieg Avenue, where a car was keyed and food thrown on it.
Police also handled a civil matter involving property damage on Division Street, after a dump truck reportedly tore up a yard and destroyed a fire pit while delivering a dumpster next door.
At Shawano Middle School, officers investigated a minor car incident in front of the building, while other school liaison calls came in from both the middle and high schools.
In the afternoon, police responded to a harassment complaint at Michael’s Barber Shop involving online threats, followed by a reckless driving report of a silver sedan swerving through downtown streets. Officers also dealt with an intoxicated individual causing trouble at Sharona’s Bar, and later a bail-jumping complaint on Sawyer Street where a woman allegedly violated a no-contact order.
Additional calls included a welfare check on South Lincoln Street after reports of an older man slumped in a wheelchair, a dog bite case sent to ThedaCare, suspicious activity on Union Street, and a noise complaint tied to the local paper mill.
Clintonville Police had a full schedule of calls on Thursday. Officers began the overnight hours with multiple business checks on South Main Street and Industrial Avenue. Later in the morning, a traffic stop was conducted at North Main and 19th Street, followed by an extra patrol on West Green Tree Road. That same area later brought in an ordinance violation call.
Police also assisted other agencies several times, including incidents on South Main Street, East Madison, and West 14th. In the afternoon, officers responded to a vehicle lockout on East Morning Glory Drive, a disabled vehicle at North Main and 14th Street, and provided extra patrols near a school on 20th Street.
Other calls included traffic concerns on Warren Hansen Drive, a minor crash on East Morning Glory Drive, and an evening traffic stop on South Main. The day wrapped up with extra patrols at Memorial Circle and another agency assist on West 14th Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office logged 32 calls for service on Thursday. Deputies assisted paramedics with a medical call early in the morning and later handled a property damage crash along Highway 29. Several traffic hazards were reported during the day, including debris on the highway and a tree down late at night.
Animal calls included the safe return of a lost golden retriever in Shawano and a neglect complaint involving cattle without food, water, or shelter near Bonduel. Deputies also responded to an abandoned vehicle parked in a Shawano yard for two weeks.
In the courthouse, deputies provided security for multiple hearings, including one that led to an arrest on a warrant. Another individual was taken into custody later in Bowler on an outstanding warrant.
Other calls included an identity theft complaint, a welfare check triggered by a medical alert device, a trespassing report in Tigerton, reckless driving near Cecil, and a suspicious vehicle in Wittenberg.
Deputies also investigated criminal damage in Belle Plaine, transported an inmate from the Menominee Tribal Jail, and handled an evening car-deer crash near Clintonville.
The day ended with two late-night suspicious activity calls, one in Gresham involving a possible fight and another in Shawano where a resident awoke to find her front door open.
