SHAWANO, WI – Safe Haven is inviting Shawano County residents to turn the county purple this October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The new Purple Porch Project encourages people to show their support by displaying a yard sign or a purple porch light.
Yard signs are available for $20, while bundles that include purple light bulbs range from $25 to $40 depending on the package. Organizers say each display sends a strong message of zero tolerance for abuse and full support for survivors.
Orders can be placed online with electronic payment options available. More details are posted on the Shawano Safe Haven website.
