SEYMOUR, WI- After starting the season 0-8, the Seymour Thunder volleyball team turned in a perfect day on their home floor, finishing 3-0 at their own invitational on Tuesday.
Seymour opened with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Little Chute, winning by scores of 25-19, 18-25, and 15-5. The Thunder then outlasted Pulaski in another three-set battle, rallying after a 25-21 opening loss to take the next two sets 26-24 in extra serves and 15-13. Seymour closed the day with a comeback win over Sturgeon Bay, dropping the first set 25-19 before storming back to dominate the final two, 25-6 and 25-11.
With the sweep, Seymour improves its season mark to 3-8, gaining valuable momentum in front of their home crowd.
Pulaski also had a strong showing, finishing the invite with a 2-1 record. The Red Raiders opened with a sweep of Little Chute, 25-16 and 25-17, before falling in their tight three-setter against Seymour. Pulaski bounced back with a straight-set win over Sturgeon Bay to end the day with a 5-3 overall record.
Little Chute went 1-2 on the day, while Sturgeon Bay came up empty at 0-3.
