SHAWANO, WI – A simple bowl will carry a powerful message in Shawano this weekend as SAM25 celebrates the 10th annual Empty Bowls, Caring Hearts fundraiser.
President Muffy Culhane says the event is about more than raising money, it’s about the impact and symbolism behind each handcrafted bowl. “Every ticket gives you the chance to pick out a beautifully painted ceramic bowl, food-safe and dishwasher-safe, made by community volunteers,” Culhane explained.
She added that the program’s name serves as a reminder of the ongoing fight against hunger. “The significance of Empty Bowls is to remind us that so many people in our community, across our country, and around the world experience empty bowls every single day.”
The fundraiser runs Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shawano High School, with proceeds supporting SAM25’s mission to help those in need.
