CLINTONVILLE, WI – Tensions surfaced at the August 11 Clintonville School Board meeting, where Treasurer Jason Moder spoke out against what he described as harassment and intimidation directed at newly elected board members.
During the public comments portion of the meeting, Moder said a small group of individuals have been using social media to try to silence the majority of the board. He called the behavior “unacceptable” and said it undermines the principles of democracy and respect that the district strives to model for its students.
Moder emphasized that four board members were recently elected because of their passion for education and their commitment to needed changes in the district. He added that those members were chosen by the community to advocate for students while also being mindful of taxpayers.
The remarks come amid ongoing debates over district priorities and how best to move forward, as community members and board leaders work to balance accountability, transparency, and civility in public discourse.
