Shawano Police had a busy Wednesday with a wide range of calls. The day started early when officers responded to a disturbance on South Main Street. A man was reportedly locked out of his girlfriend’s home and became belligerent, yelling outside and ringing doorbells before police cleared the scene.
Later in the morning, police handled a lost iPad report, recovered property at St. James Lutheran Church, and assisted firefighters after an alarm went off at county trunk B townhomes. Crews confirmed there was no fire.
Around midday, officers investigated suspicious activity near Waukechon Street where a tent and trash were found in the woods, and later took a person into protective custody. Another suspicious call came in from Elizabeth Street, where a threatening phone message referenced delivering a package.
The most serious incident came in the afternoon on South Weed Street. Police were told a man with a knife was destroying belongings inside a home, throwing ashes outside, and threatening a pregnant woman. Several officers responded to stabilize the situation.
Throughout the day, officers also assisted ambulances, handled multiple 911 calls, and dealt with traffic hazards. In the evening, they responded to more disturbances—including one on Union Street where juveniles were reported yelling threats—and a domestic disturbance on South Sawyer Street.
The night closed with several additional 911 calls, a juvenile problem, and a joint operation with other law enforcement agencies in Birnamwood involving a suspect who fled on a bike before being located.
Clintonville Police kept busy Wednesday with a variety of calls. Officers conducted nine business checks throughout the city overnight to ensure properties were secure.
Two ambulance calls were logged during the day, along with two extra patrol requests.
Police also responded to a domestic disturbance, a welfare check, and a traffic stop. In addition, officers provided mutual aid to another agency and investigated a bail-jumping incident.
No major injuries were reported, and most matters were resolved without further incident.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office had a busy Wednesday with a series of calls across the county.
It began just after 1 a.m. when deputies responded to a vehicle lockout in Pulaski. A little later, a caller on Highway 29 near Shawano reported a suspicious car parked in a driveway.
Throughout the morning, deputies handled multiple warrant pickups at the Shawano County Jail. Several individuals turned themselves in on outstanding warrants.
In mid-morning, officers investigated an attempt-to-locate involving a loaner car never returned to a Green Bay dealership. Deputies also checked on a disabled sedan on Highway 29 near mile marker 217.
By the afternoon, an unusual call came from Cecil, where three stray pigs wandered up to a homeowner’s garage. Deputies also responded to threats reported in the town of Angelica, and to reckless driving complaints on Highway 29 and rural roads near Clintonville.
Later in the evening, a probation violation was reported in Birnamwood, while another call involved suspected bail jumping in Gresham. Deputies also handled welfare checks, disabled vehicles, and a 911 hang-up in Cecil.
The day ended with transports from the Shawano County Jail, including one inmate taken to the hospital for medical issues.
