Shawano Police responded to a wide range of calls, the day began shortly after midnight with a welfare check at Ole Town Tap on North Main Street. Officers also investigated a drug-related complaint on West Division Street around 4 a.m., after an anonymous caller reported possible meth or cocaine use. That case remains active.
At daybreak, officers handled several incidents, including a disorderly conduct complaint on South Water Street where a man was seen throwing a garbage can into the road. A short time later, police cleared hay from the roadway at Engel Drive and Waukechon Street.
By mid-morning, officers checked on another welfare concern at the Shawano Rec Center, returned a stray husky found near South Andrews Street, and responded to a juvenile complaint about kids stealing bikes on West Pine Street.
In the afternoon, police assisted with a funeral escort, responded to a reckless driving complaint near the Shawano KFC, and fielded several 911 calls. Later in the day, a lowboy trailer heading to the Shawano County Fair struck a light pole while navigating a corner on Fairview Way, prompting a traffic hazard response.
The evening brought more juvenile issues, including reports of teens riding dirt bikes in the street and causing disturbances near Stubborn Brothers Brewery. Around 9:20 p.m., police and fire crews were called to the NEWCAP Shelter after a smoke alarm went off, though no major incident was reported.
The night closed with officers responding to a domestic disturbance at Aspen Court Apartments just after 10 p.m.
Clintonville Police reported the day began with a pair of escorts on North Main Street and South Clinton Avenue. Around midday, officers responded to a lost and found case on West 13th Street, followed by two separate welfare checks—one on South Main Street and another on Grove Street.
Traffic enforcement was active as well, with stops reported on North 12th Street near Green Tree Road, and later on South Main at County Highway I.
In the afternoon, officers investigated a threatening complaint on South Main, and just after 6 p.m. responded to a motor vehicle crash on the same street. Another traffic stop followed near Sunset Drive.
Later that evening, Clintonville Police provided mutual aid on North Main, and before midnight, crews were dispatched for an ambulance call on Anne Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies were kept busy overnight with a string of welfare checks, a suspicious vehicle in Leopolis, and cows loose on Highway 47 near Hofa Park Road. A reckless driving complaint was also logged near Shawano’s Airport Drive.
By mid-morning, deputies investigated multiple reckless driving reports, including one where a pickup cut off a semi and slammed its brakes. Around 11:30, officers responded to Wittenberg for a death investigation, followed minutes later by a juvenile runaway report in Tigerton.
The afternoon brought more reckless driving on Highway 29, a restraining order violation in Pulaski, and a property damage crash in Bonduel. Deputies also assisted a woman in Caroline retrieving belongings from a residence after a release from jail.
Evening calls included bail jumping, another 911 hang-up, and a traffic hazard caused by debris on Highway 29. Later, deputies handled a warrant arrest, a disabled combine partially blocking a roadway, and suspicious activity reported at the Bonduel Kwik Trip.
The night closed with several more reckless driving complaints, a noise disturbance near Shawano’s Eagle Nest Lake, and fireworks followed by loud music.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police also reported three incidents, including a reckless driving complaint on Leopolis Road, an accidental 911 call in Gresham, and an arrest on a warrant.
In all, law enforcement across Shawano County handled 36 incidents.
