SURING, WI – A tradition that has spanned nearly a century will continue this year as Suring hosts its 95th annual Labor Day celebration from August 29 through September 1.
The four-day festival will feature community events, food, music, and family fun, with the centerpiece being the Labor Day parade on Monday. Sponsored by the Suring Lions Club, the parade begins at 10 a.m., lining up at Suring School before heading east down Main Street. Families often stake out their spots as early as 8 a.m. for the best views and candy tosses from parade participants.
This year’s parade will be led by longtime community members Jay and Katie Tousey, who have been named grand marshals. The Touseys, who will celebrate 48 years of marriage this fall, are lifelong supporters of the community and the celebration.
The Labor Day festivities are expected to draw visitors from across the region, keeping alive a tradition that has been a cornerstone of Suring for nearly 100 years.
