Jack W. Lozier, age 93, formerly of Marion, passed away on Sunday morning, August 24, 2025 at Whispering Pines Assisted Living and Memory Care, Plover.
Jack William Lozier was born October 24,1931 in the Township of Union, Waupaca County, son to the late Earl & Elsie (Klatt) Lozier. He attended Manawa Schools and graduated with the class of 1949 as class president. In 1949, he joined the National Guard and was called into active duty with the U.S. Army in January of 1951. Jack served 16 months with Company M, 279th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War overseas. After an honorable discharge in January of 1955, Jack returned home. He was united in marriage to Joyce Hitzke on September 6,1959; Joyce passed away less than a year later on May 30, 1960. On July 11,1964, Jack was united in marriage to Sharon Radtke at St. John Lutheran Church, Marion. Jack worked as a television repairman for Keller’s Appliance, Clintonville for many years. After Keller’s closing, he worked for Utility Tool and Body until retirement.
In his younger years, Jack played BABA ball for Symco. He enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, especially Pelican Lake and his yearly fishing trips to Canada with his buddies. He loved snowmobiling on his Ski-Doos with family and friends. Jack was a wonderful dancer and with Sharon in his arms, would polka and waltz across the dance floor. Jack was a faithful member of St. John’s serving on church council and as an usher.
In 2012, with Kaylene as his guardian, Jack had the opportunity to take the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington D.C., to see the memorials and get a chance to chat about his service with other veterans. This trip sparked a change in how he looked at his service to the country. Before the flight, Jack rarely spoke about his experiences overseas, but after his return, found a new openness to sharing it with others; a true highlight in his life.
In 2023, Jack moved to the Plover area to be near his children as he needed more care. We are grateful to the staff at The Lodge and Whispering Pines Memory Care for the loving, patient and exceptional care given to dad.
Jack was very proud of his children and spouses making sure he told them frequently. He cherished and adored his granddaughters, who were everything to him. He lit up each time his great granddaughter, Charli, came to visit. He was thankful for everything anyone did for him no matter how small the gesture was.
Jack is survived by his children: Kaylene (Lance) Tischauser & Tom (Sandy) Lozier
Granddaughters: Taylor (Doug Dicka) Tischauser and McKenzie (Tyler Sneen) Tischauser
Great-granddaughter: Charli Joyce Dicka
Brothers-in-law: Jim (Jayne) Radtke & Bob (Connie) Wendt
His “favorite son”: Brian Pacyna
Jack also treasured his nieces and nephews of the Hitzke family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon; his brother Eugene Lozier; and sisters-in-law, Ronda Radtke & Carole Radtke
