John L. Laux, age 85 of the Township of Dupont, Waupaca County, passed away on Friday morning August 22, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.
John Leonard Laux was born January 15, 1940 in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County, son to the late Leonard & Mayme (Draheim) Laux. He attended Marion Schools, but left during his senior year to work the family farm full time, stepping in for his father. John was united in marriage to Karen K. Buntrock on February 7, 1959 in Marion. Dairy farming was in John’s blood and he worked hard for many years providing for his family; he also helped his neighbors with their farm work as well. John retired from farming in the mid-1980s, but always kept himself busy transporting local Amish neighbors when they needed a ride. In his spare time, John enjoyed Playing Sheepshead with family and friends, and was not afraid to try his luck at the casino. A tireless worker, John loved cutting the grass on his John Deere garden tractor and working his large garden with plenty of sweet corn planted. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
