Shawano Police responded to a series of calls throughout the day on Wednesday. Just after midnight, officers were called to South Sawyer Street following reports of yelling and door slamming. The disturbance was believed to involve intoxicated individuals, and police remained on scene for more than an hour.
Later in the morning, a disabled vehicle caused traffic issues near East Green Bay Street and Waukechon Street. The maroon Pontiac SUV was missing a tire and had to be addressed by officers.
A separate welfare check was requested by the Shawano County Veterans Service Office after a woman reported fleeing an abusive situation in Michigan. She was located safely at an apartment on South Sawyer Street.
Midday, officers handled a disturbance at Memorial Park on South Lincoln Street. Multiple units and an ambulance responded to the scene.
By evening, vandalism was reported on South Main Street when a homeowner discovered a broken window. Police say security footage identified a suspect.
Later that night, alarms were triggered at a gun shop on South Main Street, bringing several patrol units to the scene. The investigation determined it was a false alarm, and the business was secured.
Officers also assisted several residents with medical emergencies and responded to noise complaints, parking violations, and reports of potential scams.

Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls on Wednesday, August 20th.
Officers conducted several business checks overnight and made multiple traffic stops across the city.
Two welfare checks were requested, including one to ensure the safety of a resident in need. Police also responded to two separate animal complaints.
Additional calls included an ambulance assist, a lockout, a gas leak report, and a citizen assist. Officers also provided extra patrol in one neighborhood.
In all, Clintonville Police recorded more than a dozen calls for service, continuing their efforts to keep the community safe.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office reports a busy day of calls. Deputies responded early in the morning to a traffic accident at the intersection of North Airport Drive and East Green Bay Street. A short time later, a 911 call came in from Wittenberg, which was quickly resolved.
In another case, a Shawano resident reported that someone had entered her home, stealing her dog’s medication, several totes of food, and other belongings while she was both home and away.
Deputies also investigated multiple traffic hazards, including malfunctioning railroad crossing arms and a stranded vehicle along County Highway BB. Two warrants were served during the day, one involving a pickup in Shawano and another in Portage County.
Around midday, authorities assisted Waukesha County with a welfare check and took part in a Silver Alert search for a missing driver with dementia last seen in Weston.
In the evening, deputies were called to reports of reckless driving. Witnesses say two ATVs were speeding, popping wheelies, and ignoring traffic near Rangeline Road. Later, another reckless driver was reported along Highway 29.
Other calls included stray animals, a suspicious vehicle near a cornfield, a burglary alarm at a Shawano gun shop, and a medical assist after a woman fell at her home.
In all, the Sheriff’s Office logged 28 incidents for the day, underscoring the wide range of calls handled daily to protect and serve county residents.
