SEYMOUR, WI- The Seymour School District is joining a growing number of Wisconsin communities making the switch to cleaner and greener student transportation. This school year, the district has added propane-powered buses to its fleet, replacing traditional diesel vehicles.
Dan Kobussen, president of Kobussen Buses, said the move was an easy decision that benefits both students and the community. “Propane is cleaner than gasoline, cleaner than diesel. These buses will be quieter, and they’ll be warmer than the diesel buses they replace,” he explained.
The switch is part of a broader statewide effort to reduce emissions and modernize school transportation. Kobussen noted that Kobussen Buses now operates more than 200 propane-powered vehicles across Wisconsin.
Seymour joins districts in Brodhead, Lodi, Marshfield, and Appleton that have already introduced propane buses, providing students with a safer, quieter, and more environmentally friendly ride to and from school.
District officials say the move not only supports sustainability goals but also ensures a better experience for students who rely on daily bus service.
