SHAWANO, WI- Stormy weather cut this year’s Shawano Fly-In Car Show short on Saturday, but not before hundreds of visitors enjoyed planes, cars, and community fun.
The event was called off after a couple of hours due to incoming weather. Still, organizers say many kids had the chance in the morning to take part in the Young Eagles program, which offers introductory flights to youth. Spectators also had time to walk through rows of classic cars and view airplanes on display before conditions forced an early end.
Airport officials say they remain grateful for the support, noting the hard work of volunteers who helped make the event possible. While disappointed the show didn’t go as planned, organizers say those who signed up for Young Eagles flights may get another opportunity at a future event.
Visitors to the Shawano Airport may also have noticed some fresh upgrades this year. Airport Commissioner Doug Engel said improvements such as expanded parking and added transportation options were in place to enhance the experience for attendees.
Despite the weather, the Fly-In Car Show once again delivered a taste of Shawano’s summer tradition, blending aviation, classic cars, and family activities into one community celebration.
