Manawa Man Killed in Workplace Accident at Upper Michigan Gravel Pit

ONTONAGON COUNTY, MI- A 50-year-old man from Manawa has died in a workplace accident at a gravel pit in Upper Michigan. The Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Department says it happened around 2:20 p.m. Thursday at the Highpoint Gravel Pit in Rockland Township.
When deputies and EMS arrived, Terry Gene Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WLUC-TV. Authorities have not released details on how the accident occurred.
The Mine Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
