Shawano police had a busy day responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Just after midnight, officers were called to Kuckuk Park on Oak Drive after a resident reported people yelling in the parking lot. The group had dispersed by the time police arrived.
A more serious incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when officers responded to a domestic disturbance on County Road B. Two officers were on the scene for nearly two and a half hours. One person was taken into custody.
Later that morning, a caller reported two dogs chasing people at the intersection of North Franklin and West 4th Street. Police responded and located a German Shepherd and a small dog but no injuries were reported.
Around 11:30 a.m., a man covered in blood walked into a business on North Main Street. The store employee called police, who determined the man had fallen off his bicycle. He was treated at the scene.
Police also investigated two separate reports of damaged vehicles, including a fender bender at Bank First on East Green Bay Street. No injuries were reported.
In the afternoon, a young child called 911 reporting a disturbance at a South Sawyer Street apartment. Officers responded and stayed on scene for over an hour.
And finally, officers assisted probation and parole officers with the arrest of a 20-year-old, who was taken into custody without incident.
Clintonville Police responded to several calls beginning with an early morning alarm on South Main Street just before 7:40 a.m. Officers quickly investigated and secured the scene.
Shortly after 9 a.m., police assisted with a vehicle lockout, also on South Main, followed by two separate traffic stops—one of them at the intersection of East 12th Street and Memorial Circle.
At around 11:30, officers were called to Flora Way to investigate a threatening complaint. Details were not released, but the situation was handled without further incident.
In the afternoon, Clintonville police were dispatched for a welfare check on West 13th Street and later responded to a suspicious situation on West Morning Glory Drive just after 5:30 p.m.
Rounding out the evening, officers conducted another traffic stop and responded to a call regarding a wanted person on South Main Street just before 9 p.m.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a wide range of incidents across the region logging a total of 41 calls for service.
It started early with a welfare check near Highway 29, where deputies followed up on a concerned call about a young male. Just over an hour later, a suspicious vehicle was reported parked the wrong way outside Jungles on Main, with damage to the front end and four juveniles nearby. Officers determined no immediate threat, but concerns were noted.
Later that morning, a domestic disturbance in Gresham prompted police response, while an illegal burn was reported on Broadway Road—witnesses said someone was burning tires near an apple orchard.
The sheriff’s office also handled multiple reckless driving complaints throughout the day, including a speeding Jeep truck clocked at over 80 miles per hour and a GMC weaving across highway lines in Bonduel.
One of the more troubling incidents was a burglary in progress on Shawano Shores Circle, where the caller believed suspects were still inside the home. Deputies responded swiftly.
Deputies also provided an escort for the remains of a recovered veteran as they arrived in Shawano—a solemn moment marked with respect.
From welfare checks to 911 hang-ups, vehicle lockouts, and even a dog bite reported from Belle Plaine, deputies stayed active throughout the day to keep Shawano County safe.
