Shawano Police were busy early in the morning responding to a disturbance at an apartment on East Lieg Avenue. Officers spent nearly an hour at the scene, but no further details were released.
Two trespassing calls kept police on alert, both involving reports of homeless individuals camping in or near dumpsters behind local businesses, including Hardee’s and Lebakkens Rent-to-Own. Officers cleared the scenes, but one Penske truck associated with the activity was still being monitored later in the day.
A fleeing incident Monday night involved a vehicle that reportedly hit speeds up to 85 miles per hour near East Green Bay Street and North Airport Drive before officers terminated the pursuit for safety reasons.
Officers also responded to multiple 911 hang-ups, medical assists, and welfare checks, including one involving a man reportedly laying in front of the Shawano Police Department overnight.
Elsewhere, a bike and tools were reported stolen from a shed on South Union Street—total losses estimated around $250. And in a separate call, a verbal altercation at a Sawyer Street apartment led to allegations of disorderly conduct.
There were also several routine calls: a disabled vehicle, a lockout at Walmart, and traffic hazards reported throughout the city.
Clintonville Police report Officers responded to a variety of calls throughout the day, starting just after midnight with animal complaints at multiple intersections including West 3rd and Bennett Street.
Officers conducted several traffic stops along South Main, North Main, and 20th Street, ensuring roadway safety. A couple of parking enforcement checks were also made on Primrose Circle and South Main.
There were three welfare checks throughout the day—on 10th Street, South Main, and Hughes Street—ensuring community members were safe and accounted for.
The department also handled two ambulance assists, one on South Main and another on 7th Street.
Other calls included a harassment report on 6th Street, a lockout at a South Main business, a lost-and-found item on Memorial Circle, and an open door reported late in the evening.
Extra patrols were also logged near schools and parks as part of community safety measures.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Office reported Deputies handled over 50 calls for service, including a high-speed pursuit near Lake Drive and Airport Road, where speeds reached 85 miles per hour before the chase was safely terminated.
The day began with a 911 hang-up near County Road S and Valley Road and continued with multiple alarms, including at a Dollar General and Napa Auto. Deputies also responded to several welfare checks, including a report from Bowler where a man allegedly made suicidal threats involving a vehicle crash.
Animal issues were also frequent—two calls reported a bald eagle in traffic lanes on Highway 22 and later in a ditch on Highway 29.
There were also two disabled vehicles involving deer and raccoon collisions that left cars stranded along the roadside.
Other incidents included a restraining order violation, suspicious activity, a drug complaint, and criminal damage reported at a Gresham church where a gravestone had been tampered with.
Deputies also assisted with fire calls, utility issues, and medical transports, including inmates needing hospital attention. And in a late-night call, a store employee in fear for her safety requested deputy presence after allegedly receiving threats from customers angry about an early store closure.
