NEW LONDON, WI- A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently for the new location for the New London Public Library, which will be located in the former First State Bank building at the corner of Wyman and North Water Streets. The project marks the result of years of planning, fundraising, and community support to bring a modern library facility to the city. The building was donated by First State Bank, and nearly $4 million in grant funding was secured to support construction. Work is now underway to transform the space into a fully equipped library designed to serve all ages, from infants to seniors. The upgraded facility will include spaces for learning, discovery, and community gatherings. Construction is expected to continue into 2025, with additional donations still being accepted to help furnish and equip the building.
