SHAWANO, WI – Shawano County officials are addressing recent concerns raised at a Board of Supervisors meeting regarding a rumored missing million dollars. Administrative Coordinator Jim Davel responded directly to the claim, pointing to the county’s thorough and ongoing financial oversight.
“Just finished our largest audit of the year,” Davel said. “Financially, the county is in incredible position.”
Davel emphasized that Shawano County completes four audits annually to ensure transparency, accountability, and accuracy in managing public funds. The latest audit, its most comprehensive of the year, showed no irregularities and confirmed the county’s strong financial health.
Officials say the audit results demonstrate that Shawano County’s finances are both well-managed and on solid ground.
