SHAWANO, WI-The latest Cone with a Cop event in Shawano was once again a sweet success.
Held from 4 to 7 p.m., the event featured emergency vehicles, local law enforcement, and plenty of family fun. Dozens of kids enjoyed ice cream and got an up-close look at police vehicles, while parents had the chance to meet and talk with officers in a relaxed setting.
Shawano County Sheriff George Lenzner says the event is more than just a summer treat, it’s an opportunity to strengthen trust and build relationships.
“It’s just so nice to have the community come out, and it’s always a successful event,” Lenzner said. “And it’s great that these kids see that police officers are approachable, and it’s somebody they can trust and talk to.”
As cones were handed out and smiles spread, the message was clear: events like this continue to play an important role in bringing Shawano closer together, one scoop at a time.
