FOND DU LAC, WI – A 33-year-old man from Shawano has been arrested in connection with a vehicle and foot pursuit that began Sunday and continued into Monday in Fond du Lac County.
According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies initially arrested two women at the scene after a high-speed chase on I-41 that ended with the suspects crashing into a ditch. A third suspect, believed to be a male passenger, fled on foot into a wooded area near Sales Road and I-41.
An extensive search followed, with help from local residents, but the man was not immediately located. On Monday, a homeowner in northern Fond du Lac County contacted authorities with a tip, leading deputies and Oshkosh Police to the Planeview Travel Plaza in Oshkosh, where the man was taken into custody without incident.
Authorities say the suspect was already out on bond in both Outagamie and Shawano counties for previous fleeing and eluding charges. He also had active warrants for failure to appear on related offenses, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety.
