Free Summer Meals Available for Kids at Area Sites Through Statewide Program


SHAWANO, WI- The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has partnered with local organizations to provide free meals and snacks to children and teens throughout the state as part of the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The initiative aims to ensure that youth in low-income areas continue to receive healthy, nutritious meals while school is out for the summer.

Local sites offering meals include:

  • Menominee Indian High School (N500 State Highway 47-55, Keshena) – Onsite meals

  • Memorial Park (901 S. Lincoln St., Shawano) – Meals to go

  • Hillcrest Primary School (1410 Waukechon St., Shawano) – Onsite meals

  • Shawano Community Middle School (1050 S. Union St., Shawano) – Onsite meals

  • Shawano Community High School (220 County Road B, Shawano) – Onsite meals

  • Bowler School (500 S. Almon St., Bowler) – Onsite meals

  • Tigerton Elementary School (500 Elm St., Tigerton) – Onsite meals

  • Gresham School (501 Schabow St., Gresham) – Meals to go

  • Bonduel Middle School (400 W. Green Bay St., Bonduel) – Onsite meals

  • Gillett Secondary School (208 W. Main St., Gillett) – Onsite meals

  • Suring Elementary School (411 Algoma St., Suring) – Onsite meals

Each summer, SFSP sponsors and sites across Wisconsin serve more than 3 million meals at over 900 locations, helping bridge the nutrition gap for children during school breaks.
