
Joann M. Kuehl, age 90, of Shawano, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at her home. Joann was born September 29, 1934, in Watertown, Wisconsin, a daughter of the late Henry and Myrtle (Abel) Kasten. Joann graduated from Watertown High School. On November 28, 1953, she was united in marriage to David E. Kuehl. Following their marriage the couple lived in Clyman, WI, and Hustisford, WI, before eventually moving to Legend Lake. Following their retirement the couple moved to Shawano. Her husband David preceded her in death in September of 2005. Joann was the glue that kept the family businesses together. She along with her husband owned and operated a milk hauling business and had five semi’s on the road every day. They also owned a bar, construction company, and bowling alley in Hustisford, WI. Joann was the business manager for all of the businesses on top of raising her six children. Joann was a good and faithful member of Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. She was an avid Brewer fan and enjoyed watching bowling on the television. Her famous potato salad and carrot cake were always the main
attractions at every party.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Phil) Goodrich of Lannon, WI; four sons, Richard (Sandra) Kuehl of Hustisford, WI, Michael Kuehl of Williston, ND, Jerry Kuehl of Cedarburg, WI, and Dale Kuehl of Fond du Lac, WI; daughter-in-law, Denise Kuehl of Belgium, WI; 13 grandchildren, Kenya (Scott) Johnson, Michelle (Tom) Morris, Jordan (Kristy) Kuehl, Timothy (Nikki) Kuehl, Angela (Salim Biskri) Kuehl, Thomas Kuehl, Nicholas (Cindie) Kuehl, Justin (Abigail) Kuehl, Taylor (Ashley) Kuehl, Stephanie (Ryan) Mc Corry, Brooke Kuehl, Katelyn Kuehl, and Alex Kuehl; and 20 great-grandchildren. Joann is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Kuehl; son-inlaw, Michael Maas; and brother, Donald (Mary) Kasten.
A funeral service for Joann will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Shawano. Pastor Joseph Neuberger will officiate. Joann will be laid to rest next to her husband at Hustisford Cemetery, Town of Hustisford Dodge County, on Friday, May 23, 2025. Visitation will begin at the church on Wednesday at 9:30 am and continue until the time of service. In lieu of flowers and plants, the family prefers memorials to Divine Savior Lutheran Church in Joann’s name.
