Shawano Police responded to a variety of calls on Thursday with several notable incidents across the city.
Just after 3 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious person complaint on Aspen Court. The caller reported someone persistently knocking at their door. Officers investigated, and the situation was closed without further incident.
Later that morning, a bicycle complaint was filed on South Sawyer Street, where a resident found an unclaimed blue “Turn and Burn” bike in their yard. That same day, police were called to Woodlawn Drive for non-criminal property damage, and shortly after, to the Walmart parking lot on Green Bay Street for a reported hit-and-run involving a black Dodge Durango.
In the afternoon, police assisted with a welfare check on Swan Street after a friend reported concerns for a mother and her baby. Officers also responded to a vehicle lockout near the courthouse and an intoxicated persons call in Brener Woods, where concerned youths alerted authorities.
The evening included a report of an alleged DNR violation at Sturgeon Park, where a female was seen fishing without clear identification. Finally, early this morning, officers were called to a domestic disturbance on South Maiden Lane. A woman, reportedly in violation of a court no-contact order, had to be removed from the residence. That case remains active and under review.
In Clintonville, police responded to a steady stream of calls on Thursday, Officers conducted extra patrols across town, including Anne Street and Memorial Circle, while also handling several traffic-related issues throughout the day—most notably at South Main and Camelia, and later near North Main and 15th Street.
Animal-related concerns were frequent, with calls about stray or problematic animals coming from 5th Street, Elm and Walnut, Flora Circle, and Commercial Avenue. Officers also responded to a fire on East 2nd Street in the morning and assisted a citizen near County Highway I that afternoon.
A report of property damage was logged on Coleus Court, and two separate suspicious activity calls came in from Flora Way and West 14th Street. By evening, police were called to a domestic disturbance and a juvenile problem—both near South Main and West 13th.
The day wrapped with assistance to another agency on Swamp Road and ensuring safety at a reported traffic hazard on South Main and 7th.
Shawano County deputies responded to a wide variety of calls throughout Thursday, The day began just after midnight with a vehicle-vs-animal collision on Willow Road in Wittenberg. By morning, deputies were investigating multiple alarm calls in Bonduel and Wittenberg—both of which turned out to be false.
A series of 911 calls came in, including one from Shawano where the caller was reportedly at work, and another from Bonduel Elementary School. Traffic hazards were a common theme—officers dealt with debris on Highway 45, manure-spreading farm equipment creating dangers on Kolpack Road, and even a carcass blocking traffic near Eland.
Meanwhile, several reckless driving reports came in—one on Highway 156 and another near High Line Road—both resulting in stops. Deputies also executed two warrants, including one on a Winnebago County suspect with a $5,000 bond for a family offense.
In rural Shawano, a citizen reported damage to a roadside area, believed to be caused by a known individual. A property dispute between neighbors also sparked a call near Stubb Lane. In the afternoon, stray animals became an issue—two loose horses in Wittenberg and a vicious dog attack later that night on Island Lake Lane, with one victim reportedly suffering an eye injury.
The Sheriff’s Office also assisted in a welfare check where a man was heard yelling for help in a remote area, and an open building door was investigated in Pulaski, with no foul play found.
