The Shawano Police Department responded to a wide range of calls on Wednesday, April 17, in what turned out to be a busy and varied day of law enforcement activity.
Early in the morning, officers were dispatched to a 911 call on South Main Street, followed just hours later by another abandoned emergency call on South Union Street, which prompted a thorough response involving multiple units. Though no threat was found, both incidents highlight the department’s vigilance in addressing potential emergencies.
Animal concerns surfaced around 8:20 a.m. when a resident on East Zingler Avenue reported a neighbor’s aggressive dog had broken free and entered his yard, reportedly biting other neighborhood pets. Officers responded swiftly to ensure safety.
Later in the day, officers handled a potentially dangerous situation involving a traffic hazard on East Richmond Street, where an object believed to be a light fixture had fallen from a truck.
One of the more serious incidents occurred just after 5:00 p.m., when officers pursued a suspect near East Richmond and South Kadletz Streets. Officers confirmed he had an outstanding warrant, leading to an active pursuit.
Also in the evening, multiple units were dispatched to McDonald’s on East Green Bay Street in connection with a drug investigation. Two individuals, were questioned as part of the incident.
Throughout the day, Shawano officers also conducted multiple welfare checks—some initiated by Life Alert, others by family members concerned about loved ones. In one notable case, a welfare check was requested after a woman reportedly pushed her emergency pendant; police later learned she was safe and at a local casino.
Adding a lighter touch to the day, officers helped escort a student-led tractor parade from Shawano High School to Hillcrest and Olga Brener Elementary Schools in the afternoon.
From assisting ambulance crews to dealing with harassment, lost property, and suspicious activity, Shawano police covered a full spectrum of community needs—demonstrating their commitment to keeping the city safe and responsive.
Clintonville Police had a busy day on Thursday, April 17, with a steady stream of patrols, checks, and community calls. Officers conducted multiple business checks throughout the early morning hours on Commercial Avenue, Paulina Street, and South Main. Extra patrols were also reported in areas like Memorial Circle and Anne Street, with a school patrol around Harriet Street just before 3 a.m.
A traffic stop occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. at Highway 22 and Meadow Lane, and the K-9 unit was deployed on South Jackson Street around 8 a.m.
Later in the day, police responded to a range of incidents including an ambulance call on Ginger Trace, a family-related matter on Hughes Street, and a welfare check on 11th Street. Reports of a lockout, a mental health concern, and a lost item were also logged.
Shawano County law enforcement had a busy Thursday, handling 24 incidents across the region. The day began just before 2 a.m. with an OWI arrest on East Green Bay Street and South Jefferson, Throughout the early morning hours, two separate 911 calls were made—one from Mattoon that was quickly cleared after the caller assured dispatchers everything was fine, and another, possibly abandoned, traced to Tigerton using RapidSOS data.
Around 7:50 a.m., a suspicious item raised concerns on Kastner Road in Tigerton. A supervisor removing road restriction signs found a pill bottle wired to a stop sign with a baggie inside. Neighbors reported it had been there since the previous day.
Traffic and road safety remained a focus, with a semi tire reported across Highway 29 between County Roads M and 22. Later, semi trucks hauling manure were reportedly ignoring a stop sign at Deer and Willow Roads in Pulaski, prompting an extra patrol request.
A utility mishap in Krakow around 1 p.m. involved a tractor snapping a power pole guide wire—WE Energies was notified. Also, a vehicle lockout was handled in Bowler, and several reckless driving complaints were logged, particularly along Highway 29.
Officers also conducted welfare checks, assisted with a fire call in Birnamwood, and responded to a non-reportable accident near Maple Street and Highway 45.
Meanwhile, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department logged three incidents, including a bail jumping case and a warrant attempt on Moh He Con Nuck Road, after a tip reported a subject last seen near the river.
