Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies began with an arrest warrant at the Shawano County Work Release Center.
Throughout the day, deputies handled several reckless driving complaints, including a silver Ford reported swerving erratically on Highway 29 near Bonduel. Multiple calls described vehicles drifting out of lanes and speeding erratically, with one incident involving a red sedan in Clintonville.
Animal calls were frequent as well. Two dogs were spotted roaming Highway 29 near a sheep farm, while a husky on a short chain with no shelter raised welfare concerns in Birnamwood.
In Tigerton, a man upset over a Facebook suspension called police for help, citing a possible misunderstanding about community standards.
Also of note, a welfare check was conducted at Happy Trails CBD after a man entered the shop appearing faint and disoriented. EMS was contacted.
From 911 hang-ups to utility concerns, it was a full day of activity for local law enforcement, who continue to manage a wide range of issues across Shawano County.
Clintonville Police kept a steady presence across the city on Tuesday, responding to a variety of calls throughout the day.
Early morning saw a series of business checks along South Main Street and Commercial Avenue, with officers ensuring properties remained secure overnight. Extra patrols were also conducted on 7th and Anne Streets.
Shortly after 8 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check and a harassment complaint, both on South Main Street. Around the same time, a juvenile issue was reported on South Clinton Avenue.
By mid-morning, officers conducted another welfare check on 10th Street, and later helped a resident with a citizen assist on Garfield Avenue.
In the afternoon, a traffic stop occurred near North Main and Park Street.
Evening activity included a 911 misdial, a report of a stray animal on North 12th Street, and a domestic incident on South Main.
Shawano Police responded to a full slate of calls Tuesday, ranging from routine assists to more serious disturbances.
The day began with officers assisting EMS on a medical call, followed by the recovery of found property near Eberlein Park. A complaint about a car blocking a mailbox on River Heights led to a brief investigation
Shawano High School reported multiple truancy cases throughout the early afternoon, keeping school resource officers busy. Later, officers responded to Walmart for a report of a minor car door ding, with the driver opting to self-report damage.
There were two separate vehicle lockouts—one outside McDonald’s, where a dog was left inside a non-running car, and another earlier at the airport. Thankfully, both situations were resolved without incident.
In the evening, a suspicious person report drew a police presence to Belle Plaine Avenue, while a trespassing complaint on South Main was addressed swiftly.
The night closed with two disturbance calls—the first on Acorn Street, and another involving an intoxicated man refusing to leave a residence on East Center Street. Both incidents required multiple officers to resolve.
