
Gene M. Kramer, age 81 of the Town of Bear Creek, Waupaca County passed away surrounded by his family at his home on Wednesday April 9, 2025 following a 6 year battle with cancer.
Gene Marvin Kramer was born on March 21, 1944 as the son of the late Harvey and Lucille (Riesenberg) Kramer. He grew up in the Marion area and was united in marriage to Ileen Gill on June 7, 1975 at Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville where the couple were current members. Gene worked for over 41 years as a welder at Utility Tool & Body in Clintonville. He also owned and operated Kramer’s Sport Shop which he referred to as his “gun shop” in Bear Creek for over 30 years. He absolutely loved working in the gun shop visiting with his customers and friends. Gene had a passion for hunting and fishing; proudly keeping with his family tradition of deer hunting on opening day each season with his kids and grandkids. He was a car guy and collected a number of Pontiacs over the years while looking forward to attending car shows. Gene had a soft spot for the German Shepherds he raised; his favorites being “Kansas” and “Montana”.
Survivors include: His Wife: Ileen Kramer.
Children: Ryan (Kristy Zachow) Kramer, Bonnie (Ryan) Smith, James Robert Hobbs, Michelle (Heith) Stidham, and Linda (Ken) Thomas.
Grandchildren: Hailey (Lucas Schoenike) Kersten, Ethan Kramer, Brennin Kramer, Abbigail Kramer, Karsin Kramer, Kennady Smith, Ezra Smith, James Hobbs, Breanna Hobbs, Andrew (Rebecca) Jentzsch, Angelique (Nik) Golomazov, & Nikolas (Kayla) Thomas.
Great-Grandchildren: Calvin, Charlotte, and another on the way.
Also numerous other relatives and friends.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Lucille Kramer, and by his brother Jim Kramer.
Gene’s funeral service will be held Wednesday April 16, 2025 at 11am at the Christus Lutheran Church in Clintonville with Rev. Brian Crocker officiating. Interment will take place at Roseland Cemetery in the Town of Dupont, Waupaca County. Visitation will be held Tuesday April 15, 2025 from 4-6pm at the Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory SOUTH LOCATION (299 S. Main Street, Clintonville, WI 54929) and again at the church on Wednesday from 10am until the time of service.
