KESHENA, WI- The Menominee Nation Eagles split a Varsity double header on Monday, with the boys winning and the girls losing their contests with Oneida Nation.
GIRLS
The Oneida Nation Thunderhawks needed overtime to complete their comeback over Menominee Nation 53-48. The first half was low scoring with the Eagles leading 18-15. Menominee held on to the lead through most of the game, but surrendered it midway through the second half. The Thunderhawks forced overtime and went 7 of 9 from the free throw line in that period to earn the victory. The Eagles were led by Urijah Reevis who fouled out with 22 points. Lena Waukau had 9 points. Oneida Nation was led by Jaylynn Caldwell with 21 points.
BOYS
Menominee Nation dominated a track-meet and three point shootout with Oneida Nation, securing an 86-41 victory. The Eagles hit seven 3’s in the first half and took a convincing lead. They added to their lead in the second half, eventually putting a running clock in place. Mikey Chapman had 21 points and Ryan Corn had 16. The Eagles made 12 three point shots including 4 by Corn, 2 by Chapman and 2 by Barron Waupoose. The Thunderhawks were led by Cory McIntyre with 27 points.
