SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano Area Community Foundation has awarded $41,000 in grants to 19 local nonprofit organizations as part of its annual competitive grant cycle, aiming to enhance the well-being of Shawano and its surrounding communities.
The grants include:
- Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin: $1,500 for the Shawano County Youth Mentoring Program.
- Boys and Girls Club of the Bay and Lakes Region: $3,000 to fund Shawano-area programming.
- Community Benefit Tree: $2,000 to assist Shawano families facing medical crises.
- Exceptional Equestrians: $2,000 to support equine therapy services.
- Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin: $3,000 for programs aimed at strengthening families in Shawano through education, intervention, and support.
- Flo’ing With Kindness Food Pantry: $2,000 to provide fresh milk and eggs and help with heating costs during the winter months.
- Marion Daycare Inc.: $1,500 for preschool curriculum enhancements and supplies.
- Navarino Nature Center: $3,500 to assist in constructing a nature playscape.
- Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Educational Foundation: $3,000 for scholarships benefiting Shawano County students.
- Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin: $1,000 for their Adopt A Room program.
- Safe Haven: $3,000 to help with repairs and maintenance of the shelter.
- Shawano Area Matthew 25: $3,000 to support utilities, maintenance, and supplies.
- Shawano Adventure Sports: $1,500 to assist in building a pump track at Kuckuk Park.
- Shawano Area Food Center: $2,000 for utilities and maintenance costs.
- The FRESH Project: $1,000 to support the Farmers Market $5 token program.
- The Salvation Army of Shawano County: $2,000 to purchase school supplies for Shawano area children for the 2025-26 school year.
- Trees For Tomorrow: $2,000 for a three-day environmental education program for students in May 2025.
- Unity Hospice: $2,000 for supportive care management services.
- WAMSCO: $2,000 for shoreline stabilization and the creation of an accessible pathway on Gibson Island.
Established in 1990, the Shawano Area Community Foundation works to improve the lives of local residents and is affiliated with the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region based in Appleton.
