KIMBERLY, WI — The Coleman Cougars showcased their wrestling dominance at the Kimberly Papermaker Invitational, amassing an impressive 561 points to claim first place. Shiocton secured second with 444.5 points, followed by host Kimberly in third with 314.5 points.
Coleman’s strong performance was highlighted by multiple first-place finishes across divisions, particularly in the boys’ competition, where they secured gold in six weight classes. Notable standouts included Gregory Hellendrung (106 lbs.), Bently Nowak (113 lbs.), Pearson Owens (120 lbs.), Conner Markiewicz (132 lbs.), Chase Gruber (150 lbs.), and Devin Otto (285 lbs.).
For Shiocton, Isaiah Carton earned top honors at 190 lbs., while teammates Tucker Keberlein (106 lbs.) and Mason Demerath (132 lbs.) made podium appearances.
On the girls’ side, Menasha delivered a strong showing, led by Taya Johnson (126 lbs.), Lauryn Rubbert (165 lbs.), and Shelby Miller (185 lbs.), who all claimed first-place finishes. Kimberly’s Ramses Trader also stood out with a first-place win in the 132E2 weight class. Shawano finished 2nd.
The invitational featured a diverse field of competitors from across the state, with athletes from 30 schools vying for top honors. Schools like Chilton/Hilbert, Merrill, and Appleton North rounded out the top five team standings, showcasing depth and talent in a highly competitive environment.
