SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano girls’ basketball team will head to Pulaski for an intriguing matchup after Shawano put on a strong showing in their last game, a 65-54 win over Medford. Led by junior standout Leah Nordin’s dominant 35-point performance, the Hawks showcased their offensive firepower and depth, proving they’re a team to watch this season.
Nordin was a force in the paint and beyond, going 16-of-27 from the field and pulling down eight rebounds. Supporting her efforts were Ella Stuber, who chipped in 19 points, including three three-pointers, and Marissa Tomashek, who added nine points and led the team with 11 rebounds. Shawano’s ability to attack inside and stretch the floor with perimeter shooting gives them multiple ways to challenge opponents.
Pulaski, on the other hand, enters the game looking to bounce back from a tough 71-45 loss to West De Pere. While they trailed by just three points at halftime, Pulaski struggled to keep pace in the second half. Olivia Sprangers (14 points) and Ashley Servais (13 points) led the offensive effort but will need more help from their supporting cast to contend with a dynamic Shawano squad.
