SHAWANO, WI– To ensure a safe Halloween for Shawano’s trick-or-treaters, the Shawano Police Department has announced that S. Franklin Street will be closed from W. Division Street to W. Eagle Street on Halloween, October 31, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The temporary closure aims to provide a secure environment for families as they enjoy the holiday festivities.
The department has also shared important safety tips to help families stay safe:
- Drive Slowly: Motorists are urged to drive cautiously, being extra watchful for children who may unexpectedly cross the street.
- Adult Supervision: Trick-or-treaters should be accompanied by an adult and wear costumes that are visible to drivers.
- Stay Visible: Flashlights or glow sticks can help children stand out as they walk, and kids should be reminded to look both ways before crossing any street.
The Shawano Police Department thanks the community for supporting these safety measures and for helping make Halloween a safe, enjoyable experience for all.
