SHAWANO, WI- Shawano pulled off a thrilling 26-13 victory over Denmark, thanks to a fourth quarter that saw them score 14 unanswered points.
Shawano was able to score first with a 97-yard touchdown run by Jerzy Brocker, but the two-point conversion attempt failed, giving them an early 6-0 lead. Denmark responded with a 5-yard touchdown run by Steven Kielpikowski, though their extra point attempt was unsuccessful, tying the game at 6-6. Shawano then reclaimed the lead with a 2-yard touchdown run by Brocker, ending the half up 12-6.
In the third quarter, Denmark took the lead with another 5-yard touchdown run by Kielpikowski, and this time, the extra point by Lincoln Arneson was good, putting Denmark ahead 13-12. Shawano took control in the final quarter, scoring twice. First, Brocker connected on a 7-yard touchdown pass to Parker Beyer, followed by a successful two-point conversion to make it 20-13. They sealed the victory with a 5-yard touchdown run by Brocker. The Shawano Senior quarterback led the offense, throwing for 152 yards and one touchdown while also rushing for 139 yards and three touchdowns. Steven Kielpikowski had 108 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
