MANAWA, WI- Heavy flooding has forced the closure of lanes on WIS 22 near Manawa in Waupaca County. The incident occurred around 11:30 AM on July 5, 2024, affecting both northbound and southbound traffic at the intersection of WIS 22 and WIS 54 as well as at Highway N.
According to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department, the closure is expected to last approximately two hours. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes as all lanes in both directions are currently blocked.

There have been reports that people have called dispatch requesting water rescues and some reports indicating water up to the steering wheel on vehicles, with people stuck in cars. It was reported by the National Weather Service of Green Bay that a local nursing home was evacuated.
The National Weather Service has advised people to avoid travel and seek higher ground.
