CLINTONVILLE, WI- Saturday marks the opening of the Clintonville Aqua Park. The park, located at Bucholtz Park, has been a long time coming, according to Justin McAuly, Clintonville Park and Rec Director.
“We had our pool that was built in 1961 and in was taken down in 2019. It has been a long time since we had an outdoor swimming facility.”
It is a natural body of water that is treated by Wisconsin Pond and Lake. “Everything is natural and safe to swim in,” said McAuly.
The water has a zoom flume that has three slides that will go into the water.
“We have a decent size beach that goes up to about six foot.”
McAuly says they hope to expand in future years.
A room is available for rent and a concession stand is available.
Opening Season Specials: $2 for Children/Seniors (65+ with ID) and $3 for Adults per day pass. No season passes 2024. These prices are valid for the entire year of 2024. Children aged 12YRS and below must be supervised by an adult. Children aged 10YRS and below must always stay within arm’s reach of an adult, and all children aged 10YRS and below must wear a type II or III Coast Guard-approved life jacket at all times.
The aqua park also has a floating wheelchair and is handicap accessible.
McAuly says there are similar aqua parks in the valley and Green Bay.
The pool in Clintonville closed in 2019. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Friday the 14th.
