Donald J. Staszak, age 81, Zachow, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 29, 2024. The son of Frank and Eleanor (Jarosinski) Staszak was born July 19, 1942, in Green Bay.
Don was a 1960 graduate of Pulaski High School. On May 1, 1965, he married Carol Raymakers at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski. After high school he worked for Packerland Packing for several years. Don then worked for VanLannen Roofing before starting his own business, Staszak Roofing. He remained self-employed until retirement running Staszak’s Feed Mill.
Don had a knack for making people laugh. He always said he was the “best guy in Zachow” and he was the “unofficial mayor” of Zachow. He was an avid Packers fan and enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and shaking dice.
Don enjoyed being around his family. Supporting his kids and grandchildren at their different sporting events was something he loved to do until he was no longer able. He was always there to help his children remodel their homes.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Carol; six children: Lisa (Tom) Mehlhorn, Brian Staszak, Sheri Bishop, Connie Pedersen (special friend, Craig), Glenn (Shawn) Staszak, and Joy (Steve) Sams; 14 grandchildren: Andrea (Andrew) Zawalich, Marissa Mehlhorn, Stephanie (Adam) Mikle, Jared (Autumn) Staszak, Bryce and Brooklyn Bishop, Trevor and Kailee Pedersen, Garrett, Sydney and Morgan Staszak, Corryn, Carley and Connor Sams; five great-grandchildren: Brixon, Hunter, Aspen, Westynn, and Wrenley.
