MADISON, WI- Senator Robert Cowles (R-Green Bay) and Representative Calvin Callahan (R-Tomahawk) expressed their satisfaction as Governor officially signed Senate Bill 136, now known as 2023 Wisconsin Act 110, into law. This bill, co-authored by Senator Mary Felzkowski and Representative Rob Swearingen, aims to bolster the maintenance of Wisconsin’s extensive snowmobile trail network.
Act 110 brings significant changes to existing laws governing the distribution of revenue generated by snowmobilers through registration fees, trail passes, and gas taxes. Previously, clubs were eligible to receive $300 per mile initially, with the potential for additional reimbursement for expenses exceeding this amount. However, Act 110 raises the reimbursement cap to five times the initial payment or up to $1,500 per mile.
