MADISON, WI- Kaukauna, Luxemburg-Casco and Fennimore came away with Team State Wrestling Titles. Coleman finished 2nd in Division 3 after beating Weyauwega-Fremont in the Semifinals.
DIVISION 1-The Kaukauna wrestling team showcased its dominance on Saturday at the University of Wisconsin Field House, securing their fourth consecutive WIAA Division 1 state title with a thrilling victory over Wisconsin Rapids, ending with a scoreline of 36-27.
This triumph marks the eighth overall state title for Kaukauna, a powerhouse in high school wrestling, and the second time they have achieved a remarkable four consecutive victories. The Ghosts previously accomplished this feat from 2014 to 2017.
The pivotal moment of the match occurred in the second half, starting at 150 pounds, where Kaukauna embarked on a four-match winning streak. Kolin DeGroot’s pin at 150, Peyton Lee’s 10-6 decision win at 157, Liam Crook’s pin at 165, and Brady Sprangers’ 6-0 decision at 171 secured a commanding lead of 36-15 and clinched the state title for the Ghosts.

The UW Field House witnessed a wrestling spectacle on Saturday as Luxemburg-Casco asserted its dominance, clinching the WIAA Division 2 state wrestling title for the second consecutive year. The Spartans, seeded as the top contenders, secured their 14th state title overall with a resounding 36-19 victory over second-seeded St. Croix Falls.
Locked in a fierce battle through eight weight classes, Luxemburg-Casco found themselves holding onto a narrow 16-14 lead against a determined St. Croix Falls. However, the Spartans’ championship pedigree shone through as they surged ahead in the final matches to secure the coveted title.
Caleb Delebreau, who recently claimed an individual state title, continued his impressive form, securing a quick pin in just 59 seconds at 150 pounds. Max Ronsman followed suit with a thrilling third-period escape and takedown, clinching a tight 3-2 victory at 157.
Despite a brief slowdown with a pin from St. Croix Falls, Luxemburg-Casco regained momentum with a dominant 17-2 victory at 175 by Sam Schutz. Trace Schoenebeck contributed a crucial 5-4 win at 190, setting the stage for Ezra Waege to seal the championship with a hard-fought 5-3 victory at 215. The Spartans concluded the final six matches with five wins, highlighting their resilience and skill.
