Terry Keith Lichtenberg, 83, of Oshkosh, passed away on February 26th, 2024 at Aurora Hospital in Oshkosh. He was born in the city of Clintonville, WI on April 4, 1940, son of Herbert and Valrie Lichtenberg. Terry attended high school in Clintonville, WI and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Stevens Point. On July 17, 1965 he married the love of his life Geraldine Ruth Lichtenberg in Oak Lawn, IL and together raised two daughters. In 1973 the family moved to Oshkosh, WI. A family could not have asked for a more devoted husband and father. Terry spent his professional career working for the Social Security Administration assisting families in need. He assisted with meals on wheels and was a member of the Kiwanis Club for many years. He also volunteered to be a big brother for another child in need. In his retirement, he continued his vocation through various endeavors including being a school crossing guard, taking care of neighbors in need of assistance, assisting people at the senior center in Oshkosh with filing of their annual taxes and working with the census bureau. He was also an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church for 50 years and had a devout love of Jesus Christ and this was of great comfort to him at the end. Throughout his life he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, golfing, playing cards and bowling. He was also an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. As time went on and he had to slow down (a little) he would often enjoy playing games such as sheepshead, 3 up, cribbage, scrabble, sequence and canasta with friends and family. He was never one to sit idle and this continued up until almost his final day.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Geraldine Lichtenberg, his two daughters, Tamara (Daniel) Brehm of The Woodlands, TX and Nicole (Jeffrey) Golden of Omro, WI; grandchildren Tyler (Victoria) Brehm, Colton (Rosemary) Brehm, Jacob (Kate) Brehm, Jared Golden and Kaitlyn Golden; great-grandchildren David, William and Charlotte Brehm; a brother Dennis Lichtenberg and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Valrie Lichtenberg, sister DeAnn Stuebs, brother-in-law Ward Stuebs, sisters-in-law Patricia Lichtenberg and Kimberly Grining, and various aunts, uncles, and cousins.
