Mardell M. (Cady) Boehm, age 92 of New London, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at St Joseph Residence surrounded by her family. Mardell was born on July 19, 1931 in Waupaca to the late Harold and Ella (Lucht) Cady. She was united in marriage to John Boehm on June 23, 1956. Mardell was a telephone operator for many years with Wisconsin Bell. She enjoyed gambling and going on casino bus trips with John. Mardell was an exceptional cook and loved canning and baking. She especially loved cooking and baking for her family. Mardell supported her grandson by attending his soccer and baseball games. She was always up for a shopping trip with her daughter and loved spending time with her cat Miley. Mardell was a lifelong member of Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aide and a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, especially of Donald Driver!
Mardell is survived by her children, Penny “PS” Coffey and Ryan (Carrie) Boehm; grandson, Javan “Sweet Pea” (Amy) Coffey; cousins, Dennis Prahl, Bonnie Prahl Schoenick and Mary Prahl; her special friend, Carolyn Rhoden and many nieces and nephews. Mardell was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; brothers, Roland, Lowell, Wilmer, Arnold, Arden, Lyle and Laverne Cady; her special aunt and uncle, Emil and Ethel Prahl, who raised her like their own and her cousins, Norma, Geraldine, Carol, Merlyn and Merrold Prahl.
The Memorial Service for Mardell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. The visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Baldwins Mill Cemetery, Town of Royalton.
