OCONTO FALLS, WI-
An accident in Oconto County claimed the life of a Cecil woman after her vehicle collided with a semi-truck early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:18 a.m. on State Highway 32, close to the intersection with County Highway CC in the town of Oconto Falls.
According to authorities, a passenger car driven by a 76-year-old woman from Cecil was traveling west on County Highway CC. Tragically, the vehicle failed to stop at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a southbound semi-truck operated by a 39-year-old man from Krakow.
The impact of the crash caused the semi-truck to overturn, coming to rest in the west ditch.
Emergency responders swiftly transported the driver of the car to a nearby hospital; however, despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries.
The driver of the semi-truck sustained injuries in the collision and was also transported to a hospital for medical treatment.
