Etta M. Ninman, age 94 of the Town of Belle Plaine, went to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ early Thursday morning, January 18, 2024, at the Jack & Engrid Meng Residence in DePere. Etta was born May 16, 1929, in the Town of Hartland, Shawano County, WI, a daughter of the late John and Ida (Heller) Liesner. She attended school in Bonduel, graduating from Bonduel High School with the Class of 1946. Following high school, Etta worked as a nanny and housekeeper for the former Green Bay Packer, Don Hutson. She also worked as a waitress at Club LaVeda on the Cloverleaf Lakes, where she met her future husband, Arthur Ninman. They married on August 22, 1953, at Friedens Lutheran Church in Bonduel. Following their marriage, the couple lived and farmed the family homestead in the Town of Belle Plaine. Mr. Ninman preceded her in death on July 14, 1994. Etta was a good and faithful member of St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine where she served with the Ladies Aide Society. Etta loved reading and tending her flower gardens. She was also a long-time member of the Belle Plaine
Homemakers.
Survivors include two sons, William Ninman of the Town of Belle Plaine, and Todd (Nancy) Ninman, of Madison, WI; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Christopher) Rodriguez-Ninman, and Christopher (Antonella) Ninman, all of Brooklyn, NY; three great-grandchildren, Matteo, Alejandro, and Xavier; her sister, Nora (Bill) Klinger of Flippin, AR; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, LeRoy, John, and Jerry; and her sister, Adele Nordwig.
A funeral service for Etta will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine. Pastor Kurt Kluge will officiate. Interment will take place at Friendship Cemetery, Town of Belle Plaine. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church and continue until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred in Etta’s name for St. Martin Lutheran Church-Belle Plaine.
