Ramona A. Waubanascum-Madosh Kinney, age 26 of Neopit, unexpectedly started her journey to the Spirit World on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Shawano. Ramona was born June 25, 1997, in Green Bay, a daughter to the late Misty Waubanascum. She attended the Menominee Indian Schools, graduating with the class of 2015. Following high school, she was the assistant manager of Little Ceasars Pizzeria in Shawano and was currently employed at IHOP as a waitress. Ramona was united in marriage to Joel T. Kinney Jr. on February 22, 2022, in Shawano. Ramona was a homebody, but she enjoyed swimming and hanging out with her cousins at the lake lot at Legend Lake.
Ramona is survived by her husband, Joel Kinney Jr; stepchildren, Kiyara, Kyson, and Khalese Kinney; her aunt, Shelia Madosh of Neopit; her adopted dad, “Mino-mii-zhik-gookwe” (Kim Beaudin) of Hayward, WI; uncles, Clifford (Romilda) Madosh III, Kerry Madosh Sr, Dion Madosh Sr (Rhonda), Shandy (Lesley) Madosh, and Brandon (Staci) Madosh; special people, Beverly Madosh, Uncle Tracy Waubanascum, Noelle Madosh, and Jerrett Peters; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Misty Waubanascum; maternal grandparents, Clifford Madosh Jr., and Claudine Madosh; her aunt, Wendy Waubanascum; and two infant siblings.
A Funeral Mass for Ramona Waubanascum will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Neopit. Father Hanz Christian will be the Celebrant. Visitation will begin Thursday, January 18, 2024, after 4:00 pm at the Menominee Tribal Community Center in Neopit and will continue until the time of Mass on Saturday morning.
