CLINTONVILLE, WI- The city of Clintonville has decided to eliminate the bleachers along the third base line in front of the press box at Don Jirschele Stadium at W.A. Olen Athletic Field due to safety considerations.
The decision was approved by the Clintonville Common Council during its meeting in December. Justin Mc Auly, the director of Parks and Recreation and Public Works, informed the council that, after extensive discussions, including consultations with the Clintonville School District, the city determined that the long bleachers in front of the press box posed a risk of people falling through them.
He explained that the plan involves repurposing much of the aluminum planking from the removed bleachers for retrofitting the other set of bleachers, emphasizing a commitment to recycling.
