
Richard Raflik, age 93 of Shawano, entered into eternal life on Christmas morning, December 25, 2023, in Shawano. Richard was born February 24, 1930, in Stevens Point, a son of the late Stanley and Regina (Dulak) Raflik. He attended P.J. Jacobs High School in Stevens Point, graduating with the Class of 1948. Following high school, he was employed at Vetter’s Windows and Door Company. On September 11, 1951, Richard was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served two years in Korea. He was honorably discharged on June 12, 1953, having attained the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning from service, Richard returned to Vetter’s in the paint department. In 1959 he moved to Milwaukee and was employed by Eagle Knitting. He later went to work at General Motors Corporation as a machine repairman, retiring after sixteen years with the company. Following his retirement, Richard relocated to Shawano. Richard was a good and faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was active with the Secular Franciscan Order, the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent De Paul Society, and the Disabled American Veterans. Richard volunteered his time with Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the St. Vincent De Paul Society. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his dog, Sporty, and his father and brothers.
Survivors include his brothers, Raymond (Alice) Raflik of Stevens Point, Dennis Raflik of Junction City, and Marvin (Karen) Raflik of Lomira; his sisters, Evelyn Rinehart of Santa Barbara, CA, Philomae Worzalla of Stevens Point, Clairann (Dennis) Kaminaki of Stevens Point, and Adeline (Don) Mrozek of Rudolph, WI; his special friends, Mark and Patty Fuller and their family, of Shawano; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Anthony Raflik; his sisters, Mary Jane (Steve) Polum, and Adrieann (Peter) Zarecki; brothers-in-law, Terry Rinehart, and Richard Worzalla; and his sister-in-law, Mary Raflik.
A Funeral Mass for Richard will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shawano. Fr. Edward Looney will be the Celebrant. Entombment with military honors conducted by the Shawano AmVets Post #10, will take place at the Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Shawano. Visitation will begin on Friday, December 29, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Mickelson Funeral Service in Shawano. A Rosary Service will be recited at 6:00 pm followed by a Parish Wake Service at 6:30 pm with Deacon Mark Fuller officiating. Visitation will continue on Saturday morning at 9:00 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and continue until the time of Mass.
In lieu of flowers and plants, the family requests offerings for Masses said on Richard’s behalf, memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, or memorials to the St. Vincent De Paul Society.
