Richard William “Dick” Schardt, age 75, passed away surrounded by family on Friday, December 22, 2023. Dick was born on October 11, 1948, in the Town of Wescott to the late William and Carol (Nass) Schardt. On June 8, 1968, Dick was united in marriage to Patricia “Pat” Peterson at Peace United Church of Christ in Shawano. Their love was so strong that they were only able to wait one day after Pat’s High School graduation before they were wed. He worked at North Country Homes in Bonduel as a yard foreman for 30 years. Dick was proud to be a volunteer firefighter for the Town of Wescott for many years. He was an avid bowler and hunter. Dick’s main passion in life, other than his wife and family, was bass fishing. Together Dick and Pat would fish in tournaments all over Wisconsin. Dick found peace and was in his element when out on the water. Dick will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Dick is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Pat Schardt; daughters, Lori (Bryan) Perryman and Loni (Kevin) Kucksdorf; precious grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Danielle (Keith) Spencer, Samantha (Dustin) Mellberg, Summit Kucksdorf, Mesa Kucksdorf and Riley Kucksdorf; wonderful great-grandchildren, Ruger and Camden; special friends, Dohn and Carol Zimmerman, Ed and Barb Spitzberger and Scott and Kelly Heling; best buddy and pet, D’ogee; siblings, Sue (Kent) Wall and William (Cassie) Schardt. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless friends.
Dick is preceded in death by his parents, William and Carol.
A Celebration of Life for Dick will be held on Saturday January 6, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Lake Shore Lanes in Shawano.
