
Thomas Ivan Plier, age 76, passed away on Tuesday November 28, 2023, in Gillett. Thomas was born on June 18, 1947, in Oconto Falls, son of the late Ivan and Joyce (Duame) Plier. He graduated from Bonduel High School in 1965. He enlisted and served in the United States National Guard and received his honorable discharge. Tom worked as a barber in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin for most of his life. After retiring he lived on his land in the Wautoma area. Tom loved collecting antiques and numerous old-fashioned water pump jacks. He was an avid collector of many things. He also enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and making maple syrup for many years. Thomas will be sadly missed by his sisters and their families.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Rosemary (Joe) Rueckert of Bonduel and Julie (Jerry) Hintz of Advance; niece, Jill (Bill) Sikorski; and nephews, Jason (Holly) Hintz, Jeff (Stephanie) Hintz, Jordan (Nathan Falk) Hintz, Dennis (Sarah) Bohm and Dave (Carrie) Bohm. He is further survived by numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Tom will be held at 11:00 am Saturday December 2, 2023, at Swedberg Wendt Funeral Home in Bonduel. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of the service. Inurnment will be in Advance Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Serenity Gardens Assisted Living in Gillett for their wonderful care of Tom over the past year.
